Haiti broke the hearts of a resilient Suriname!

PARAMARIBO, Suriname , April 2, 2018 -Haiti and Suriname created easily the most exciting moments of the tournament as they battled point for point in the third and fourth sets of match #6 of the CAZOVA U21 Men Championship currently taking place in Paramaribo, Suriname. Haiti fought from being a point down to deny Suriname a fifth and deciding set.

Haiti won the match 3-1 in sets (25-13, 25-21, 24-26 and 26-24) in a grueling two hours and four minutes.

Haiti had more winners, 100 to Suriname’s 84 with the hosts having committed less errors, 37 to Haiti’s 41.

Jean Phillipe Bayol was Haiti’s top scorer with 17 points (15 Spikes and 2 Aces)

Kasdi Dean of Suriname was the game’s top scorer with 20 points (18 Spikes, 1 Block and 1 Aces)

COACH HAITI – Ralph Adolphe said “It was a good game, they allowed the Suriname team too many opportunities but they are happy for another win.”

CAPTAIN HAITI – Joseph Dumay said “I am satisfied.”

COACH SURINAME – Seigo Valdez said “It was the best game that we played, we demonstrated that we can win and the tactical changes had good results.”

CAPTAIN SURINAME – Dylan Hiwat said “In the first set they were strong, but from the second set we played better, we made too many errors in the fourth set.”
