Channon (The Cannon) Thompson CAZOVA Women’s MVP

PARAMARIBO, Suriname, July 2, 2018 - Channon Thompson (Trinidad and Tobago) repeated her achievement of the last CAZOVA (Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association) Women’s championships as MVP in the 17th Championship which concluded at the Ismay van Wilgen Sport Hall, in Suriname.

Thompson who scored 52 points apart from receiving the Tournament MVP also collected the best receiver with 66.1% efficiency and Best server with 11 aces and an average by set of 0.79 awards. 

Although Bahamas ended up 4th in the tournament they cupped 4 awards with Best Blocker 1 going to Brittney Deveaux and Best blocker 2 going to Wesley Webb while Mackey Chandra collected the best digger award and the best opposite going to Raechel Knowles.

Apart from Sadrina receiving the top scorer award, she also received the Outside Hitter award and her team mate Sigourney Kame got the Outside Hitter 1 award.   Cheryl Brunnings captain of the Silver medalist team Suriname also collected the best setter award.

The libero of the tournament went to TTO’s Afesha Olton.
